The transition from adolescence into adulthood can be an exciting, yet daunting time for autistic young adults and their families. Preparing for adulthood may involve entering a new environment, graduating from school, handling different social situations and responsibilities, and accepting changes in a comfortable routine. We face decisions and logistical planning that affect every aspect of life: healthcare, domestic life, finances, relationships, education, employment, or alternative roles in the community.
CAR and the PASSAGE Program are presenting a workshop for autistic individuals and their families, focused on providing an overview of some of the factors to consider when transitioning into the adult world. There will be two tracks: one for family members/providers & one for autistic young adults. Young adults will participate in small-group discussions related to navigating adulthood and what this means.
Cost:
Caregivers, Professionals, Teens/ Young Adults: $10
Families of 3 or more: $25
Parking passes are available to purchase in advance for $5.
Requests for language interpreter or other accommodation services must be received 2 weeks in advance of the workshop.
